SEO, what is it? It is the acronym for Search Engine Optimization. SEO is used simply to optimize a website for search engines, hence the name search engine optimization. Creating a search engine worthy website is an excellent way of gaining new and maintaining your current clients. The process of creating a SEO’ed website takes time, patience, knowledge, research and experimentation. Each blog posting
will talk about each of the items above that I mentioned in detail. Ill start off with talking about time
connected with a well done SEO job.

With the saying of ‘you cannot become a millionaire overnight’, the same principle is to be carried out regarding SEO. You have probably heard this phrase coined by a parent, teacher or mentor at least once
in your life. SEO takes time. You will not see tremendous results only after one or even a few days of the start of the SEO. There is no set time-frame of to which keywords of yours will get ranked on Google, but if the correct steps and approach is taken to each keyword that you choose, the time you
spent on your SEO will pay off.

A good example of time connected with SEO is from a personal account of my own. Back in
the day (around 5 years ago) I was working on a website to rank a certain amount of agreed upon
keywords of the clients choice (with keyword analysis research of course!).
The client owned a company that sold personalized home gym equipment.

The owner had been in business for over 20 years and had recently decided to take an online marketing approach to his company. He was hesitant at first about Internet Marketing. Once my explanation of how SEO is beneficial to his company and the ROI that he can obtain with organic search engine optimization
(to be explained later on with the term ‘organic’), he decided to go forth with me SEO’ing his website. The keywords that we chose for this website ranged from niche market queries (smaller but more specific searches) to more general and frequently used queries. I had explained to him for the reasoning
behind using niche queries – using niche market queries helps with

• 1.) Gathering the clients that may use that specific keyword for home gym equipment
• 2.) See top keyword placements on the search engines more quickly than that of the more frequently used keywords.
• 3.) Build more pages for your website.

Those are only a few reasons to why niche market queries are important to his and to even you, the reader’s website. Within a few weeks, my client had seen 7 out of his 10 niche market queries at the #1 spot of Google and Yahoo’s search page. The rest of the niche keywords were ranked on the first page as-well.

One cannot expect for ANY search engine optimizer to ‘rank’ their search keywordinstantly. Yes, there are many techniques to rank your search keywords almost instantly high up on Google’s and Yahoo’s search pages but BEWARE!, black hat SEO practices will only hurt your future organic SEO to your website
(Black Hat SEO to be discussed later on in my blog postings). If any SEO’er promises you
high results in a short amount of time, think to yourself: “Is it too good to be true?” If yes, well then it most likely is. Time connected with SEO will be discussed further in my next  posting about patience since
there is a direct correlation.
